Science
Welcome to the science department!
Science lessons at Ysgol Morgan Llwyd are designed to develop enquiry, practical and analytical skills within the three science subjects, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. In years 7 and 8 pupils are taught units of Biology, Chemistry and Physics and have the opportunity to influence the scheme of work. In year 9 they are taught on a rota by subject specialists to develop skills in preparation of the GCSE courses. Science is a core subject, therefore pupils will gain at least 2 GCSE grades at the end of year 11 by following the GCSE Double Science course, but can select Science as an option at the end of year 9, gaining GCSE’s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics separately at the end of year 11. The Advanced Level courses are a basis for further study in any scientific field.
