Hello and welcome to the new Ysgol Morgan Llwyd PTA page.
My name is Julianne Price and I am the current chairperson of the PTA.
We are a small group of parents and teachers who endeavour to raise as much money as we can that can help the school to purchase things that can make a big difference to your child's education.
We are a very friendly and informal bunch and would dearly love to have more members. This would mean, more members=more ideas=more money raised.
We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic parents that want to make a difference and help to provide more up-to-date equipment for their chid to use while they are here
Over the years the PTA have raised money to help pay for things like ipads, dressmaking dummies, kitchen equipment and much much more. At present, due to our minibus being vandalised by fire the PTA have been donating money raised, to help pay towards the minibus, which, without this the children would not be able to go to Coleg Cambria for extra courses or go on extra curricular excursions and much more.
We are not a heavy, full on group that tries to force parents into helping out but rely on parents wanting to help with their child's education.
We meet on a half termly basis to talk about school news and fundraising ideas. Everyone is welcome at our meetings, including your children if you have no childcare.
Each meeting is held on a different day of the week at 6.30pm to make it easier for both teachers and working parents to attend.
High school PTAs are not as full on as Primary school PTAs and we have fewer fundraisers to organise so it takes up far less of your time than any PTA you may have been on in the past.
Our Fundraisers have included Welcome Discos, Valentine Discos, Easter Bingo, Christmas Fair and Quiz Night and Summer Quiz Nights in Saith Seren and a Fashion Show and Fair and we also run a Clwb 100.
We hope to raise a lot of money to go towards paying for the things that teachers have asked for including new iPads. There will be more fun coming up throughout the school year as well.
The PTA is not a full time commitment. Our meetings usually only last about 30 - 45 minutes. We all muck in together and organise things beetween us and do not try and push anyone into helping out.
It would be fantastic if you could find the time to come to just 1 meeting and see for yourselves what we do and what we are about.
Please revisit this page after the 27th of November as we will be uploading pictures from our Christmas Fair and see what you could help achieve if you were part of our PTA.
